As I am about to begin the next steps of my journey, I have taken a pause to reflect on all I’ve been through so far, and all the people I want to thank for helping me along the way.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer on 1/31/2020, I have gone through aggressive, intense regimens of chemotherapy from March – July. It has not been an easy road, with side effects, the world pandemic, not being able to work, and my partner losing income along the way as well. But I work very hard on staying positive and finding strength wherever I can, for my mind, body and spirit. I have dedicated the weeks since ending chemo to getting stronger and healthier as I prepare for surgery this coming week and radiation therapy to follow in September.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to The Pink Fund for the financial assistance I have received. It has made a big difference in our ability to manage financial needs of everyday life. The fact that three months worth of our three major bills are being covered has taken a huge level of stress off our minds. Prior to receiving this, we envisioned a large increase in credit card debt, as we would have to resort to paying bills by credit cards. Additionally it has contributed to my partner being able to be home with me to help me through the treatment process.
And perhaps most significantly, it has also fed my spirit and warmed my heart to know the generosity of others being extended to me and my partner.
